About Us
Baby's First Christmas Party started last year when a handful of mums were inspired to do something fun at Christmas for their babies and to raise for a good cause.
The idea came from the mum of a George Hamilton, who was born at the Lister Hospital, more than ten weeks early, in January last year. She wanted to give something back for the care George received in the Special Care Baby Unit and on the children's ward during his first few months. You can read more about George, and other children who have benefitted from the care they received at the Lister and QEII Hospitals, here.
Santa's Little Helpers is new for 2009. George and his friends are now toddlers and we wanted a name which reflected that fact, and the fact that we know of lots of children (and grown-ups too) who want to join in the fun too. Both Baby's First Christmas Party and Santas Little Helpers involve the same idea. It's just the name that's different.
Last year we raised £10,000 through parties and a range of other activities, many in our home town of Letchworth. This year we hope to spread the word and would love to involve people and businesses from further afield too.
